Dawn Coulter was raised in two small BC towns nestled in the Rockies and is truly thankful for good teachers who helped push her to a life of music. She began music early through church and school choirs and concert band.
She is an alumni for both the BC Honour Choir and the National Youth Choir. She attended both Capilano College and the University of British Columbia where she received her degree in music. She has sung with the Laudate Singers, Vancouver Cantata singers and is an alumni of the Canadian Chamber Choir whom she sang with for 13 seasons. Dawn currently sings with the award winning Spiritus Chamber Choir, is a soprano section lead at the Cathedral Church of the Redeemer and is an original member of Double Treble.
When Dawn isn't singing, she works as a Health and Safety Analyst in the Oil and Gas sector. She has recently taken up Irish Dancing (don't look for her in Riverdance anytime soon), and enjoys spending time with her friends and family.
Kim Reinhart - Soprano
Kim is a professional musician and an accomplished lawyer, practicing in the areas of family law and wills. Her first degree was in music and prior to practicing law she worked in business, post-secondary education, and multi-media production. Kim received her law degree from the U of C winning the Bishop and Mackenzie centennial prize (2006) for academic performance and advanced civil procedure and admitted to the Alberta Bar in July 2007.
Kim maintains a strong interest and commitment to the arts. She makes full use of her classical musical training, signing with several groups in the Calgary area. Currently Spiritus, Double Treble, and as a paid lead with the Anglican Cathedral. As time permits, she volunteers with non-profit boards. Aside from being an accomplished singer, Kim also plays keyboard instruments and a lap harp, and prefers to focus on music composed prior to 1750.
Kim has performed under the batons of Simon Preston, Sir Simon Rattle, Jeanne Lamon, Mario Bernardi, Hans Graf, David Briggs, Dr. David Hurd, among others. She has also performed both as a soloist, and ensemble singer, in early ensemble singers such immense talents as Dr. Victor Coelho, Dr. Janet Youngdahl, and Dr. Neil Cockburn.
Joanna Henry - Soprano/Alto
Joanna Henry was born and raised in Coquitlam, British Columbia, and at a young age realized her passion and gift for music. She holds a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Calgary and is currently working towards a Bachelor of Education degree. Before moving to Calgary, Joanna graduated from Douglas College in New Westminster BC with a Diploma of Performing Arts - Music.
Joanna began studying piano at the age of 5. She want on to completed Grade 4 & 5 Piano Certificates with Conservatory Canada, and Grade 8 & 10 with the Royal Conservatory of Music. Also with the Royal Conservatory, she completed Harmony and History 3. She was a regular participant in the North Fraser Music Festival, and performed at various studio recitals.
Similar to her piano background, at an early age Joanna also had a love for singing and making people smile with her vocal performances. Her experience began at the age of 6 with her church choir, where she demonstrated confidence and poise, and never backed away from solo performances. She joined one of Western Canada’s leading choral organizations, the Coastal Sound Music Academy, where she progressed from Girlchoir (2005) and Children’s Choir (2006-2009), to becoming one of the vocal leaders within the Coastal Sound Youth Choir from 2009-2013. She attended the MIRA Mentorship Program (2011-2012) with Elektra Women’s Choir and the FOCUS Mentorship Program (2011-2012) with the Vancouver Chamber Choir. This past summer 2015, Joanna attended COSI (Center for Opera Studies in Italy) program in Sulmona, Italy.
Dorian Nottebrock - Alto
Dorian moved to Calgary from Regina when she was 10. She has spent her life doing musical theatre, solo voice performance, and choral music.
In junior high she began to sing and train with the Calgary Girls Choir where she had wonderful opportunities to travel to Europe to perform in international music festivals such as the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod in Wales.
Dorian is a past member of the Calgary Girls Choir, Crescent Heights Choir, and Savridi Singers.
She currently sings with Spiritus Chamber Choir along with Double Treble Ensemble. This is Dorian's fourth season with Double Treble.
During the day she works for a training and implementation company and takes care of her two sons.
Greer Reinhart - Alto
Greer graduated with degrees in music and education and has a diploma in Fine Arts specializing in Elementary School Music. She has developed an interest in world music which took her to China to study traditional Chinese music and where she learned to play the bamboo flute. She has also studied the music of some west and South African cultures as well as the music of the Ukraine. She works as a music and classroom teacher and conducts the elementary school girls' choir and a 22 member boys choir. She currently sings with the Cathedral choir and is the newest member of Double Treble.
Ari Agha - Alto
Ari grew up in Miami, FL and in 2014 moved from Washington, DC to Calgary. They have sung in choirs since the age of 10 and were a member of the Junior and Senior High Florida All-State Choirs from 1990 – 1995. Their B.A. is from the University of Miami where they minored in music with a voice focus, singing for four years under the direction of Dr. Jo-Michael Schiebe with the University Chorale. This included a performance of Braham’s Requiem at the Music Educators National Convention in Kansas City, KS in 1996 and a performance at the American Choral Director’s Association National Conference in San Diego, CA in 1997. In 2005 they earned a PhD in Sociology from Pennsylvania State University where they sang with Essence of Joy under the direction of Dr. Anthony Leach, including a performance at the American Choral Director’s Association National Conference in Los Angeles, in 2005.
In addition to Double Treble, Ari is also a member of Spiritus Chamber Choir and occasionally sings with the Calgary Philharmonic Choir. Other Calgary choral experience includes One Voice Chorus, the BarberEllas, and the Calgary Renaissance Singers and Players. Additional choral experience includes two CDs, “Voices and Light” (1996, Albany Records) and “Brahms: Ein deutsches Requiem” (1996, Cane Records), singing under the baton of Michael Tilson Thomas and the New World Symphony Orchestra, with the Thomas Circle Singers in Washington DC, with the Essence of Joy Alumni Singers and Dr. Anthony Leach, and touring with choirs across Europe and South Africa.
Ari works as a public policy researcher with expertise in the justice system, violence against women, and quantitative methods. They share their life with their partner, Kim, Cricket the Mini Mystery Mutt, Lucy-the-Cat, and a Yorkie with attitude named G-dawg.
